Osayaba Ize-Iyama, known by his stage name Cruel Santino/Santi was born in Nigeria on the 3rd of June 1992. He grew up being an avid fan of rap music during an era when the streaming platform was not available and music could only be acquired through the purchase of hard copies.
As a young aspiring musician he started out as an artist who went by the name of ''OzzyB'', with strong influences from DMX and 2Pac. He released a project called ''Diaries of a Loner Journey'', which was critically acclaimed and scored him the recognition and admiration from many as an underground rapper, including recognition from Wizkid.
Throughout his career the trajectory of his sound shifted upon the realization that rap music was limited as far as how well he could express himself, ultimately leading him to abandon OzzyB and birth Santi, an artist whose sound was influenced by the likes of Santigold and Vampire Weekend.
Santi dived into his new sound and persona head first with his project "Suzie's funeral'', introducing his refined sound on the 13 track album.
