Dozi who's birth name is Hendrik Opperman is an Afrikaans musician and tv personality. He was born in 1964 in Hluhluwe in Kwa Zulu Natal and was raised to speak Zulu. As a student he performed in bars and dives in the evenings, resulting in him constantly dozing off during his lectures and this brought about his nickname, Dozi.
He released his first Zulu album, ‘Mercy’, in 1999 and released his first Afrikaans Album, ‘’Op Aanvraag’’ in 2001.
