A name that needs no introduction in the music circles is that of Tsepo Tshola - The Village Pope!
In his early years while in London with Hugh Masekela, Tshola met Julian Bahula (Malombo) who encouraged him to bring Sankomota to England. Subsequently Sankomota stayed for a long time in England, performing and developing their sound and unique offering.
His golden baritone echoes through classics such as Bakubeletsa and the gospel favourite, 'Ho Lokile'.
On 15 July 2021, he succumbed to the unrelenting clench of COVID-19. One thing certain is that his legacy will live on far beyond our grief.
